It’s funny because pop singing sensation Beyoncé Knowles, formerly of Destiny’s Child, released a hit single in 2009 entitled “Single Ladies” in which the chorus states “If you like it then you should have put a ring on it”. The picture mixes this pop culture reference with a well-known fact regarding one of the planets our Solar System, Saturn – namely, it is orbited by a ring system (made up of countless particles of ice chunks and other cosmic debris).
Curiously and perhaps sadly, the planet Uranus also has a similar ring system although is much less known for this. Instead, Uranus has become better known as the source of countless jokes playing on its name’s phonetic similarity to a body part.
In the year 2069, scientists plan to rename this planet to solve problems related to jokes making it feel inferior. The new name? Urrectum. Scientists predict joke volume to be negligible at that point.
